Frequently Asked Questions

What does training with Warner Athletics look like?

  • We offer a variety of options for your athlete to customize our training to your athlete. We are not a cookie cutter, ‘copy and paste’ training company, we truly get to know who are players are so we customize their training to their needs. All of our coaches take notes after every session in each players online account so that we are tracking each players progress.

    1) PRIVATE TRAINING: a la carte training options to choose when you schedule on field training with us. We offer two tiers of pricing based on coaching experience. We train goalkeepers and field payers of any age.

    2) SMALL GROUP TRAINING: We have consistent small groups offered every week day at 4pm and 5 pm for each age group (ages 4-7 & 12+).

    3) CLIENT ORGANIZED SMALL GROUP TRAINING. Want to set up a small group training with your friends or teammates? We offer group pricing and work with your schedule to set up a consistent private small group based on the specific needs of all players. We love to get feedback from team coaches too and incorporate that feedback into the training curriculum.

    4) HEALTH AND WELLNESS COACHING FOR TEENS (AND ADULTS): Coach Kramer is a certified Health and Wellness coach and has a Masters in leadership & recreation, & Coach Melissa has her Masters Degree in Psychology and a background in ABA training. Combined, we offer an effective curriculum for teens and preteens to support our athletes both on and off the field.

Our curriculum has been vetted by the Let’s Go South Bay ‘Girls Empowerment Camp’ sponsored by the Alex Morgan Foundation to work through subjects such as: building self-awareness, becoming more resilient, goal setting and habit formation, learning how to build your confidence through self-talk, leadership, and more. We know that more support through these teen years builds strong and empowered athletes, who become thoughtful and emboldened adults.

     - We offer 30 minute individual health coaching meetings, we also offer bundled pricing for these sessions! SCHEDULE A MINDSET SESSION HERE.

     - We offer monthly workshops for parents and players! Topics include: building self-awareness as an athlete. Understanding goal-setting and habit creation. Time management strategies to balance academics and athletics. Building resilience and coping strategies, college recruiting process, and more!

  • All of our coaches have bio’s available on our website, so that’s a good place to start. We aim to get as much information as possible from our new players so we have a good feel for your players preferred coaching style (positive, direct, detail oriented, fun, strict etc) and what their needs are. We offer our expertise and input to who we believe would be the best fit for your player based on their goals and skill level, and availability for consistent training.

We also believe that players benefit from experiencing different Warner Athletics coaches, as we all have different backgrounds and experiences.

  • We offer a free trial session to everyone who wants to check out what we offer and ensure that it’s a good fit. You can choose to join a small group session, or a 45-minute private session. We typically will run a session that starts with a warm up, includes 2-3 activities probing areas such as: kinesthetic  awareness, dribbling ability, passing ability, and leave time to work on whatever the player decides they need to most improve on.   We always check in and debrief with parents and players after the session to give you our evaluation of their strengths and areas to develop. You do not need to bring anything besides water and wear athletic clothing. we take care of the rest.

  • Yes! If you have unlimited groups as part of your membership, you can literally come to any group (that is appropriate based on your age/skill level) that is offered! Sometimes, you may be the only one registered for the group - if that happens, we convert the group lesson into a 45 minute private session. Win-WIN!

Answer Part 2: One of our goals in providing unlimited access to groups is to help busy families. Our goal is to develop a COMMUNITY of players who enjoy spending their time with us on the fields to get better and have fun.

We think that scheduling a private session with one of our coaches before or after a group would be a great way to take advantage of the membership, make new friends, and apply what you’ve been learning in your private session in a more game-like situation with like-minded players. This also allows parents two or more hours to get more things done while your player is at the field with us!

  • The transition to our new scheduling system may get frustrating at times. Feel free to contact us directly for help, 619-816-0949! Once you use it a few times, it is really easy to add sessions, track sessions, cancel memberships, get discounts on other purchases and more!
