Goalkeeping & Field Player Development Coach

Chris Sorg has been coaching players for the past 35 years and continues to look forward to his time on the field with players! He has coached at the Division 1 level, community college, club, high school, recreational and private levels over the years and continues to be excited to help players develop their skills and mentality to foster their progress on their journey to be better "all around players". The coaching philosophy for him has always been to “teach life lessons through this wonderful game”. This is why we are so are thrilled to have Chris as a part of our coaching staff.

Chris played collegiately at San Jose State University.. He went on to begin his coaching career at SJSU and attained multiple licensing levels: NSCAA Premier Diploma, USSF Licensing, Goalkeeper licensing for both NSCAA and USSF and is a licensed referee and is also an Associate NSCAA Staff Instructor. In addition, he is also a Sport and Exercise Psychology Coach, Sports Nutrition Specialist, Sports Injury Specialist, Sports Agility and Quickness Specialist and Core Conditioning Specialist. He is also a proud member of the 3rd tier Positive Coaching Alliance Group and has his NFHS State Coaching Certificate.

Chris was the DPL Directorate Albion San Diego, Head Coach, DA/DPL Goalkeeper Coach, Albion Pros Staff Coach and was Albion Coach of the Year in 2018. Chris was also the Director of Pro Select Soccer Academy where he oversaw private trainings and camps year round.

In the high school world, Coach Chris was Director and Head Coach for the women’s soccer program at La Jolla Country Day School and turned the program around to 2 consecutive League Championships in his 3 years as Head Coach.
